Accomplishments
Since our beginning in 1993, we have worked alongside our local partners to preserve the traditional way of life in Transylvanian villages. We have:
- Created a coalition for regional sustainable development in partnership with Civitas, a Transylvanian foundation for civil society.
- Provided funds for local initiatives, including a mill and bakery, and a model dairy project.
- Established a Milk Production Cooperative, providing a higher income and EU standards education to participating village farmers.
- Gave calves and heifers away to needy villagers, with an emphasis on widows and single women.
- Organized groundbreaking conferences on Transylvanian sustainable agriculture—bringing together village farmers with sustainable agriculture experts, EU representatives, investors and funding agencies.
- Made a $100,000 grant to local partner Harvest Hope pro Homorod, enabling them to secure a matching EU grant to upgrade their model dairy farm.

Service Projects
Children’s religious education lessons that provide a service opportunity and a deeper knowledge of the lives of other people around the world.
Engaged Learning
Worshops and lectures by leading thinkers, including:
- Wes Jackson, President, The Land Institute
- Gabor Kolumban, President, Civitas Foundation for Civil Society
- Rev. Thandeka, Theologian and Distinguished Lecturer, Harvard University
- Mark Ritchie, Founding President, Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy
